Patrick K. Greene, of Driver Greene, LLP, joined Melvin & Melvin, PLLC, as Of Counsel in Saratoga Springs. Mr. Greene practices general corporate law, with an emphasis in business transactional work, commercial litigation and commercial real estate transactions. Mr. Greene began his legal career with Rogers & Wells in Manhattan (now Clifford Chance). During the early 1990’s, while in private practice, he also served as counsel to the Albany County Executive. While serving in such capacity, he was responsible for drafting the current charter for Albany County. Mr. Greene has been credited with successfully representing several New York municipalities and public entities in matters arising out of unlawful municipal financing schemes. In each instance, his work led to the return to the affected municipalities and entities of several million dollars of taxpayer money.
Mr. Greene received his law degree from the Fordham University School of Law, where he was on the staff of the Law Review. He received his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University, where he was a four- year varsity letter winner. Mr. Greene also obtained a master’s degree in history from the State University of New York at Albany. Prior to law school, Mr. Greene worked as a sales representative for a Fortune 500 Company, and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala.
Mr. Greene is admitted to practice before the Courts of the States of New York and Connecticut and the United States District Court for both the Northern and Southern Districts of New York. He is a member of the Saratoga County and New York State Bar Associations, and has served on the boards of numerous not-for-profit organizations, including service as a board member of the Saratoga County Industrial Development Agency, and as a board member of the Upstate New York Chapter of the Amateur Wrestling Hall of Fame.
